Each of the fantastic chastity devices available here at Enforced Obedience feature a retaining ring, locking pin and spacer arrangement. These are well proven to be safe for long term wear and with the right adjustments, can be worn in relative comfort. Generally the rings, spacers and locking pins come in a variety of sizes to enable a good fit for each individual. It is important, certainly for long term wearers, that a tight but comfortable fit is achieved. Using medium to short pins and small rings will help keep the device secure and should therefore result in a comfortable fit. Below you can see the CB2000 laid out - this is to help you identify the different elements of a chastity device.

Lubrication or talcum powder should be applied before trying to fit your chastity device; this will make it easier to put it on. It will also prevent rubbing whilst the wearer grows accustomed to wearing their chastity device. Once lubricated, the first important element is the retaining ring. This fits behind the scrotum and be should be located as close to the torso as possible. The wearer's genitalia (testicles then penis) should be fed through this ring and then the ring pulled tight to the body.

The retaining ring comes in two types. Those like the Obedience Enforcer or CB2000 with a solid retaining ring that requires the testicles then penis to be pushed through. Or those like the CB6000, CB3000 and Curve, which come with rings that are either hinged or in separate pieces.

Each retaining attaches to the cage portion of the device, by housing its two guide pins. These pins are permanently attached to the cage, a third pin can then be inserted, which is the locking pin. The locking pin can accommodate differently sized spacers, enabling the chastity device to be adjusted correctly. With polycarbonate devices, it is important to ensure that the locking pin head sits flush within the ring and it will only do this from one side. On the steel Obedience Enforcer there are two guide pins, these are attached directly to the retaining ring, but one is also a locking pin and therefore has a hole in the end to accommodate the padlock. (See figure 2 below).

The cage or tube can then be applied so that the scrotum sits between it and the and the ring, which in turn should be pulled as close to the body as possible. It is important here to ensure that there are no large creases or folds in the skin at this point, as they may result in painful rubbing after just a short time. Lubrication should be applied liberally when fitting a device and it is a good idea to apply more lubrication on a daily basis (if in long term chastity) to ensure the wearer does not get sores from friction.

If you have a selection of rings or spacers, then you should experiment with them to find which is the most comfortable to wear. Remember that a reasonably tight fit is the most secure, but not so tight that it restricts blood flow. Generally the natural response of the wearer is to think that he requires a bigger ring than he really needs, too loose a fit renders the device redundant and too tight a fit can be very uncomfortable or even cause health problems. As a general rule of thumb once in place the device should not be so tight as to hurt or be uncomfortable, nor should the retaingin ring be loose.

Once you have selected the appropriate ring you, you should be looking to attach the cage. The cage or 'tube' is best applied when the penis is flaccid, but this particular organ tends to have a mind of its own and will often become erect at the mere sight of a chastity device. Some say this is to try and escape its fate, others think it is down to being shown so much attention. Whatever the reason, a good dose of cold water will soon remedy this problem!

The next important element of a comfortable fitting is the use of the correct spacer and locking pin combination (See figure 1). The spacers slide on to the locking pin, where they protect the wearer from being pinched or squashed between the retaining ring and the cage. In figure 1 the spacer is short as the points of intrigue are also on the locking pin, so a longer spacer would be used if they were not. Again here the natural response is to use a long pin or large spacer, but generally the shorter the combination, the more secure the device will be. A long pin tends only to be necessary when the Points of Intrigue are used (See figure 4).

The length of spacer should be sufficient to ensure there is enough room between the device and the retaining ring for the scrotum to sit comfortably. Ideally the right spacer will allow a certain amount of tightness, but with enough room for the skin to move easily (See figure 5). The scrotum will at times try to naturally retract from the device into the body, by attempting to slip between the ring and the cage. So the gap between the two should be large enough to allow adjustment, but small enough to not to let the testicles through. At such times the wearer will also need to be able to pull the skin back down through the gap to rearrange it for comfort. This may need to be done several times a day especially initially, as the wearer grows used to the confinement of their device.

In possession of the different pins, rings and spacers; the wearer should be prepared to try several different combinations over the course of a few days. This will not only help to ensure that the correct fit is found, but will enable them to have confidence in the combination they opt for. Only when the device is fitted correctly so it is both secure and comfortable, should the wearer be locked into it for any substantial length of time.

Once the chastity device fits comfortably then depending on the model you have, it may be necessary to cut and shape the ends of the guide pins, which are attached to the cage portion of your device (see figure 3). This is because they tend to be slightly too long for most people and therefore press into the body a little, causing some discomfort. Bare in mind though, that once the guide pins are cut they cannot be replaced. So if you cut them too short; the cage is ruined and a replacement will be needed. Also remember that if adding the points of intrigue to the combination, you will require a little more length to the pins, so do not to cut them too short. A strong pair of scissors or wire cutters is best for cutting the pins; the ends of which can then be filed smooth with an emery board to increase comfort.

With the chastity device now correctly fitted, the wearer can go about their daily business freely. Most will experience some disturbance initially to their sleep pattern, due to being woken by nocturnal erections. They will however find themselves adjusting reasonably quickly and the sleep pattern will return to normal. Other small behavioural changes like being careful how one moves, or sits down may be required whilst getting accustomed to the device. There is a definite learning curve involved in the process of growing used to confinement within a chastity device. But most people find it an easy transition and take great pleasure in the knowledge that they are able to wear the chastity device anonymously, whilst carrying out their day to day lives.
